At Kiddywinks we once again are "something a little bit different" we employ an qualified and experienced nursery teacher, Julia Wolfednale.
The reason we choose to have a teacher is based in the EPPE research, Effective Provision of Pre-school Education, March 2003, which showed that the better trained and qualified the staff are that educate and care for the youngest members of our society then the better the outcomes for the children in terms of of intellectual social and emotional development.
Julia graduated from The University of Worcester in 1983 and has taught either nursery and reception, including some of our current staff!, been a deputy head, maths advisor, Qualified Teacher for Barnstaple Children Centre, specialist maths teacher and has completed many projects for Devon County council early years department.
Julia visits us on a weekly basis to support and develop staff, using her wealth of knowledge and experience to enable us to provide outstanding provision for all the children. She provides monthly in house training to compliment the Devon training providers, helps develop areas for your children to learn and develop in, as well as allowing staff to reach their full potential. You will find her in the nursery and see her chatting to staff and engaging with the children to model good practice.
Some parents choose to leave their children with us until the legal school entry age, the term following a child's fifth birthday, by having a teacher we can be confident that the children are accessing the reception curriculum for all areas of learning.
