At Kiddywinks Barnstaple we are very lucky to have developed a Forest Garden with already mature trees creating natural shaded areas, a pond, a fire pit area, dens and so very much more.

With the majority of the plants being food producers the children learn many new skills in growing and looking after them.

Imaginations run wild and the child’s sense of wonder is rediscovered through being at one with nature, being given heightened responsibilities and having the freedom to become engaged in a variety of exciting activities.

We encourage children to make choices including whether or not to go outside, whatever the weather. We have muddy puddle suits and wellies for them to wear if it is raining or wet and coats if it is cold.
